1. ‘Mission’ is the plan of God to bring about the purpose of God.
Training Camp TAKEAWAYS!
After some long travel days, we officially made it to Bangkok woohoo! As I’ve traveled, I’ve been reflecting on the sweet 3 days I had at training camp in Georgia, and wanted to share some things that we will be taking into this month!
“Missions exist because worship doesn’t”
-John Piper
It can be so easy to lose sight of why God calls us to missions in the first place. God’s desire is that His likeness would fill the Earth, so our command is to go and be His hands and feet in fulfilling that desire. God does not NEED our help, yet He invites us to partner with Him because He wants to know us deeper! So cool!
2. We are the adopted sons and daughters of God and are fellow heirs with Jesus.
The idea of being adopted into God’s family has become tangibly real to me the past few days. I’m learning to walk as a daughter of God and learning to live in community with my brothers and sisters in Christ!
3. Life is ministry and ministry is life.
There is no “off time” in doing ministry. I was reminded and encouraged to go after the “one” even if it means making myself interruptible and leaving my agenda behind.
4. Storytelling is powerful.
So pumped to be able to share stories from Thailand that will glorify God and dignify people.
5. Truth is about someone we know ~ Jesus.
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
6. God knows YOUR name.
Praying that the people that we encounter here in Thailand would begin to know that there is a God that knows their name and wants to know them personally and deeply!
7. We are called to speak the truth in love through helpful feedback.
This is what community looks like. Calling each other higher and encouraging each other in who we are in the Lord.
8. Seek first the kingdom of God.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done…
Continually learning what it looks like to run after the kingdom and to say “yes” to God in all circumstances.
9. Expect the Lord.
Your expectations will fail you, but you can always expect the Lord.
10. The Holy Spirit dwells in you.
“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you…” (Romans 8:9)
The price for His presence is time.
The purpose of His presence is change.
The product of His presence is power.
